Thank you for taking part in the Mayday Mile

RNLI/Nathan Williams

You made a lifesaving difference this May. You’re a lifesaver.

Congratulations – you did it! A mile every day in May is quite the achievement – and we’re so grateful you decided to take on the challenge with us.

Your hard work will make a lifesaving difference. You’re helping to give RNLI volunteers everything they need to launch their lifeboats to the rescue. Because of you, they’ll be ready when desperate calls for help come this summer. Thank you so much, you’re a lifesaver.

Henry

Henry was inspired to take part in the Mayday Mile because his dad is a crew member at Bridlington RNLI – and Henry loves to help out at the station. His mum says he already has his name down to be a future crew member!

Henry wanted to raise money for the RNLI, to help fund vital kit and training, so decided to take on the Mayday Mile. And it was an extra challenge for him too, as he hates walking!

Lily

‘The RNLI have been part of my life since I can remember,’ says Lily, who answered our call for help this Mayday. ‘Living in a fishing town, you’re going to know someone that the RNLI has helped, or someone who is on those RNLI boats helping others.’

Lily lives with Fibromyalgia. She says: ‘My mobility is reduced, leading me to use a walking stick and, on my not so great days, a mobility scooter. Walking a mile a day throughout May is going to be an interesting challenge for me.’
