The inshore lifeboat was launched at 7.36pm helmed by David Chard, crewed by David Holland and Barney Stevens to cross St Ives Bay for Portreath to a dog that had fallen off the cliffs. The swell was stronger than in the bay, but with the help of the Cliff Rescue Team the crew located the spot where the dog had fallen and crew member Barney Stevens was dropped onto the beach. The dog was found, but unfortunately it hadn't survived the fall. The dog was recovered and returned to the coastguard team and its owner on Godrevy beach.
