Report of Dog in Water – Dunglass Castle, Bowling, River Clyde
At 1300 hours on Thursday 23rd August 2018 UK Coastguard requested the attendance of Helensburgh RNLI Lifeboat to a report of a dog stranded on a channel marker opposite Dunglass Castle
The lifeboat, which was on exercise within the Clyde, was asked to check if there were any persons stranded with the dog.
The lifeboat proceeded to scene and found a large dog next to a navigation marker. There was no sign of anyone with the dog. The dog was taken onto the lifeboat and the coastguard contacted the SSPCA. It was agreed to meet them at Sandpoint Marina on the Leven. The dog was handed over to them at that location and, at 1410 hours, the lifeboat was stood down.
The lifeboat returned to station and reported ready for service again at 1500 hours
