Cardigan and New Quay Lifeboats in joint search for missing paddleboarder

Cardigan Lifeboat Station was called by HM Coastguard at 23:05pm and launched both the Atlantic and D Class lifeboats to search the coast from Cardigan Island up to Llangrannog Beach.

The HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at St Athan, Rescue 187; New Quay and Gwbert Coastguard Rescue Teams and Dyfed Powys police were also involved in the search.

The search lasted over three hours when the missing person was located on a cliff top by Rescue 187 and winched aboard and taken to Morriston Hospital.

Both Cardigan lifeboats return to station at 03:50am
