Beaumaris lifeboat assists broken down vessel on the Menai Strait.
The volunteer crew members of the R N L I Beaumaris lifeboat received a launch request at 3.02 pm from the U.K Coastguard, to assist a boat with engine failure located off Plas Newydd on the Menai Strait..
The Beaumaris lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington launched at 3.10 pm and proceeded at a speed consistent with public safety to the vessel. Upon arrival it became apparent that the craft with her four adult occupants and one dog would have to be towed to a boat yard for repair.
The motor boat was towed to the ABC boatyard at Gallows Point near Beaumaris and recovered from the water by employees of the boatyard assisted by lifeboat volunteers.
The lifeboat was then released from service by the U.K. Coastguard and returned to the lifeboat station at Beaumaris arriving at 4.45 pm being recovered, refuelled and prepared for her next service call by 5.20 pm.
