A fishing vessel came to their aid and, on arrival at the scene the two casualties were transferred to Tighnabruaich lifeboat.

Uninjured but suffering from cold, they were assisted and passed safely on to Tarbert Coastguard. Having completed their duties, the lifeboat was returned to Tighnabruaich station and made ready for service

Many of the RNLI volunteer crew of Tighnabruaich lifeboat were attending training in the station at the time, facilitating a speedy launch. The training – in the use of on-board radio systems – allows crew to assist with rescue and liaise with other rescue services as they strive to improve safety and save lives at sea.
