Aberdyfi RNLI volunteers will be hosting a recruitment morning this Sunday (8 December) between 10am-12:30pm as they invite supporters to find out more about the charity’s work of saving lives at sea.

Aberdyfi RNLI are looking for people to join the team and help support the station in a number of roles; the roles vary from lifeboat crew to shop volunteers, all of which are vital to saving lives at sea.

Have you ever thought about volunteering for the RNLI, but you aren’t sure which role would suit you? Come along to the recruitment day where current volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions and to help explain the vacancies in more detail.

Aberdyfi RNLI are looking for people to help support the following roles: volunteer lifeboat crew, shore crew, Deputy Launching Authority, Lifeboat Press Officer, Shop Manager and volunteers, Lifeboats Visits Team Members as well as roles within the station fundraising team.

Lifeboat Operations Manager David Williams said: ‘Volunteering with the RNLI gives you the opportunity to make a difference in your local community and to help us save lives at sea. Our charity couldn’t function without the help of our selfless and hardworking volunteers. If you’re interested in learning more about possible opportunities and make a difference in your community, please join us this Sunday at Aberdyfi Lifeboat Station between 10am-12:30pm.

The charity is hoping to attract people from all walks of life and most new recruits don’t need to have sea-going experience to get involved.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
