Amble and Newbiggin lifeboats in night-time search
Following a request from Humber Coastguard at 6.25pm on Tuesday 6 February, Newbiggin lifeboat Richard Wake Burdon and both Amble lifeboats Mildred Holcroft and Elizabeth and Leonard alongside Coastguard units were launched to search the Druridge bay area.
A member of the public had raised concerns about a person in difficulty somewhere along the beach.
Newbiggin was tasked to search the southern sector while Amble was to search from Hauxley south as far as Cresswell.
The person was located safely on shore by the Coastguard search team and the lifeboats returned to their respective stations and readied for service by 9pm.
