Helensburgh RNLI Lifeboat and HM Coastguard rescue a man from the Clyde

Lifeboats News Release

At 0201 hours on Sunday 1st September 2019 HM Coastguard requested the launch of Helensburgh RNLI Lifeboat to go to the assistance of a person in the water off Greenock Esplanade.

The lifeboat launched at 0210 hours arriving within 10 minutes. A male was in the water being supported by a coastguard rescue swimmer who was unable to get the person ashore.. Both were recovered to the lifeboat and taken ashore at East India Dock where the male was handed over to an ambulance crew. Police, HM Coastguard and the search and rescue helicopter were also on scene. The lifeboat returned to station at 0324 hours.
