Burry Port RNLI are recruiting volunteers to help save lives - on land!
Burry Port Lifeboat Station are hosting a volunteer recruitment day on Thursday 3 October between 11am-7pm as they invite supporters to find out more about the charity’s work of saving lives at sea.
It’s been a busy summer for the lifeboat crew and the volunteers are looking for people to join the team and help spread the charity’s lifesaving messages – from the comfort of the new boathouse!
Burry Port RNLI are looking for supporters for a number of available roles at the station – from Shop Volunteers, Lifeboat Visits Team and a Community Safety Officer to help share vital sea safety messages across the area.
Have you ever thought about volunteering for the RNLI, but you aren’t sure what role will suit you? Come along to the recruitment day where current volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions and help explain the vacancies in more detail.
Area Lifesaving Manager Joanna Price said: ‘Volunteering with the RNLI gives you the opportunity to make a difference in your local community and to help us save lives at sea. Our charity couldn’t function without the help of our selfless and hardworking volunteers. If you’re interested in helping our charity, I encourage you to drop into the Volunteer Recruitment Day on Thursday 3 October at Burry Port Lifeboat Station.’
The charity is hoping to attract people from all walks of life and most new recruits don’t need to have sea-going experience to get involved.
