Mumbles lifeboats join multi agency search

At 9.10 pm Sunday night the Volunteer crew of the Mumbles lifeboats were called to assist in a search for missing vessel.

The Tender with 2 people on board had not returned to Swansea Marina.

UK Coastguard at Milford Haven set to investigating with Coastguard rescue teams from across the area, both Mumbles inshore and all weather lifeboats and a Coastguard helicopter . A 3 hour search continued into the night and eventually just after midnight the crew of the missing vessel were located safely ashore.

Second Coxswain of The Mumbles Lifeboat Nigel Garner said ‘This highlights the importance of letting someone know where you’re going and what time you’ll return when setting to sea. It’s also important to let those people know when they return safely. We’re grateful for the owner of the boat getting in touch to let us know that the boat hadn’t returned and thankful it’s crew were safe and well. ‘
