Last year’s event, held at the Meridale Centre in Sutton on Sea, was extremely successful and raised £350 for the RNLI from the sale of jigsaws, books and refreshments.

The Jigsaw Festival is being held during a weekend to hopefully attract tourists visiting the area, as well as local people. There are several caravan and holiday parks in the area and in inclement weather jigsaws are always a good way of filling time.

Kim Hoey, Guild Committee member, said: ‘We were very pleased with the attendance at our first Jigsaw Festival in this area to raise funds for the RNLI, and the amount of money we were able to raise will go to assist their continued work to save lives at sea.’

The Sutton-on-Sea and Trusthorpe Lifeboat Guild was formed in 1966 with the aim of raising funds for the RNLI to provide lifeboats, equipment and training for the volunteer lifeboat crews so that they can continue to save lives at sea.

During 2019 the Guild raised £4852.48 from events held during the year making an overall amount of £205,225.72 since the first figures were available in 1976.

Volunteers will be selling jigsaws and books at the Meridale Centre, High Street, Sutton-on-Sea on Sunday 5 April from 10.00am to 1.00pm. Refreshments will be available.

Donations of jigsaws would also be very much appreciated. Contact Kim Hoey (07544 191913) or Lesley Robinson (07806 092528) for further information.
