Heroes for Morecambe RNLI volunteers
Its been a busy week of call outs at Morecambe Lifeboat Station.
RNLI crews are prepared to drop everything and risk their lives to save others at a moment's notice and the RNLI have saved over 142,700 lives since 1824 but we’re more than a rescue service. The RNLI influence, supervise and educate people too. Our Community Safety teams explain the risks and share safety knowledge with anyone going out to sea or to the coast.
As a station we would publicly like to thank the kind person who put the boxes of chocolates on the windscreens. The crew were very grateful of this kind gesture, as you can see in the photo.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
