Durham RNLI Fundraising Branch is looking for extra volunteers
Durham RNLI Fundraising branch is looking for extra volunteers to join its friendly team. The charity that saves lives at sea is seeking an Events Organiser and a Branch Treasurer.
Ben Black, RNLI Fundraising and Partnership Lead, said: ‘The branch is a small team based in Durham but one with a big impact, having raised over £360k over the branch’s twenty-year history.
‘It is a very active and innovative group, always coming up with new ideas. They organise events in the Durham, Washington and Newcastle areas and often help at events further afield.
‘With the pandemic our charity’s volunteers haven’t been able to get out and about to do their normal fundraising. As we’re expecting a very busy summer, we have been raising funds online. With restrictions easing we’re now planning some in-person fundraising, and that’s where we need extra help’.
Ben added: ‘It’s a great opportunity to put your skills to good use, gain some valuable voluntary experience and have fun and meet new people. As well as seeking an Events Organiser and a Branch Treasurer, there may be other opportunities to join in, regardless of how much or how little time people have to spare.’
