Multi-agency search continues off Northumberland coast for missing diver
Further to the reports issued yesterday (Sunday 17 October), the search for the missing diver off the Farne Islands continues.
Seahouses all-weather lifeboat was paged again just after 6am today (Monday 18 October) and re-launched to resume searching the area where the diver was reported missing.
Lifeboats from Amble, Craster and Berwick continued the search into the night, supported by the Rescue Helicopter 912 from Hull.
Seahouses volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer, Ian Clayton said: ‘We would like to thank our RNLI flanking stations for their tremendous support and assistance put into this search, and the hours their volunteer crews and ours, have spent at sea.
‘Thanks must also go to Eshott Airfield, who were able to supply fuel for the Rescue Helicopter, which returned three times during the night to refuel, so it could continue the search.
‘Our thoughts are very much with the family and colleagues of the missing diver at this difficult time.’
