Clacton RNLI and West Mersea RNLI stations in call to a person in difficulty
The volunteer crew from the Clacton RNLI lifeboat station alongside their flanking station West Mersea, were paged on Thursday 30 September at approximately 6.00pm with reports of a person in difficulty in the water.
Crew from Clacton lifeboat station launched their Atlantic 85 Class David Porter MPS into wet and blustery conditions and made their way to the last reported location near Brightlingsea.
Upon arrival the volunteer crew co-ordinated with the crew from Mersea, and were informed that the casualty had already been recovered by the Mersea team, and both crews travelled into Brightlingsea harbour where the casualty was handed into the care of a local ambulance.
The crew were then stood down and returned to the lifeboat station where the lifeboat was cleaned, refuelled and made ready for service again by 7.20pm.
