Borth Lifeboat Operations Manger steps down after 30 years.
After over 30 years as Lifeboat Operations Manager at Borth Ron Davies MBE is stepping down from the role.
Ronnie's incredible service will continue in the role of Boathouse Manager.
Ronnie's total service with the RNLI is 56 years so far.
Ronnie began as a D-Class crew member in 1966.
1966 Joined as Crew member at Borth lifeboat station, when the station was first opened.
!976 Became Helm.
1978 Received Thanks on Vellum from the institution for a rescue of people off rocks.
1991 Received Thanks on Vellum from the institution for a rescue of people off rocks.
1992 Retired as Helm and became Hon Sec(LOM)
2004 Awarded MBE for services to the community, as a volunteer at RNLI, HM Coastguard and Fire Service.
2013 Awarded RNLI’s Gold Badge in recognition of his valuable support of the lifeboat service.
2020 Awarded 50 year service badge.
Everyone at the station would like to thank Ronnie for his service and we are all delighted that Ronnie is remaining as part of the team.
