Busy Thursday with two shouts for Barmouth RNLI volunteer crew

The pagers sounded early as the crew of inshore lifeboat (ILB) Craig Steadman were tasked to assist a broken down Dory with two persons on board. At 7.50 the crew launched into calm seas with excellent visibility. The casualty managed to get the dory restarted and safely returned to the harbour. ILB Craig Steadman was therefore stood down. The crew returned to the boathouse and refuelled and readied for service

The second shout of the day heard the pagers sounding at 14.56 and the crew of All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) Ella Larsen were tasked to reports of a 16ft pleasure craft that had broken down near Tonfanau. The crew launched into smooth seas with excellent visibility. The casualty vessel was located near the shore in shallow water. The crew of ALB Ella Larsen stood by until the crew of Aberystwyth RNLI arrived on scene in their Atlantic 85 lifeboat who then took the casualty under tow into Aberystwyth harbour.

ALB Ella Larsen and her volunteer crew returned to Barmouth where they completed their scheduled training exercise before being refuelled and readied for service.
