Volunteer needed to lead RNLI Water Safety plan on the Isle of Man

Have you got an understanding or knowledge of water-based activities and would you like to support the work of the RNLI on the Isle of Man, but not be tied to a pager? Then the volunteer Water Safety Officer might be the role for you.

The RNLI are recruiting a volunteer Water Safety Officer to bring together water safety activities across the Isle of Man.

Working with the local lifeboat stations and RNLI staff, the person will help to design, implement and support the charity’s work to help reduce the number of preventable deaths and incidents at coastal location. This includes the Water Safety Life Saving Plan, which is aimed at reducing fatalities and serious incidents by identifying and targeting particular “at risk” groups with specific interventions to help lower that risk.

This volunteering opportunity would suit somebody who has an understanding of marine based and waterside activity on the island. Another desirable attribute is an understanding of or experience in education delivery.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a small team of volunteers to support the charity in the delivering water safety interventions at events, in schools and at lifeboat stations across the Isle of Man. If you would like to join a friendly, dedicated and motivated team, the RNLI would love to hear from you. Full training will be provided for the role and you would be supported by the charity’s specialist Water Safety Delivery team.
