Fundraising team recruitment day a success for RNLI Teignmouth

The fundraising team at RNLI Teignmouth successfully recruits new volunteers to assist in their popular shop.

A great day was had by all attendees at the latest recruitment drive for the fundraising team at RNLI Teignmouth, resulting in a number of new faces joining.

Jason Mann, RNLI Teignmouth Volunteer Shop Manager, expressed his delight at the ‘enthusiastic response to our volunteer recruitment drive’. Jason went on to state that ‘a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds have come forward to volunteer for the RNLI Teignmouth shop. Their support will be invaluable during the coming season.’

The volunteer fundraising team are a vital part in helping to raise the funds needed to ensure the RNLI can continue to save lives at sea, their hard work helps to kit out the crew with all the equipment they need to carry out their life saving work.

The fundraising team at RNLI Teignmouth are still looking for additional volunteers to join them and to help make the most of the shop’s potential, especially in the upcoming summer season.

When asked about being a shop volunteer Jason said it ‘is tremendously rewarding and great fun. It’s an opportunity to meet others and to be part of a great organization which provides an essential, lifesaving service.’

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands.
