Invergordon Lifeboat launch to yacht in gale force winds which broke mooring
Invergordon Lifeboat launched after a yacht broke its moorings and drifted up the firth and onto rocks at Dalmore Embankment in high winds overnight.
The Lifeboat escorted the vessel and her two crew back under her own power to the Kiltearn by Evanton mooring, where she was made secure and the two persons on board made it safely back to shore via the small tender to the awaiting Coastguard team.
Once the yacht was secured on the mooring, Invergordon lifeboat was stood down and departed the scene and returned to Invergordon’s West Harbour, arriving back at 12:15pm before being made ready for the next service.
