RNLI Loch Ness receives cheque from co-op members

The donation is part of the Co-op’s Local Community Fund where each store chooses 3 charities to support that year, with Co-op members able to donate to 1 of the charities every time they shop.

RNLI volunteers at Loch Ness rely on these generous donations to provide their training, kit, rescue equipment and lifeboat that help them to save lives at sea.

Kieron Tarling, Lifeboat Helm at RNLI Loch Ness, said “We’re very appreciative to Co-op members for choosing to support RNLI Loch Ness and for this incredibly generous donation of £676. This year, we’ve had 11 call outs and this donation will help us to continue to keep everyone safe whilst they visit Loch Ness, arguably Scotland’s most famous body of water”

This year, 27 Co-op stores have raised over £101,000 for the RNLI in Scotland through the Co-op Local Community Fund. Over the next 12 months, the Co-op Local Community Fund will support 19 lifeboat stations
