RNLI Campbeltown receive donation from Co-op Community Fund Scheme
On Friday 4 November, the charity was presented a cheque for £5,370.69 from the Co-op as a result of being one of their local causes for 2021-2022. A chance for the local community to support one of three causes.
The funds of £5,370.69 has been raised as part of the Co-op Community Fund scheme for the year 2021 to 2022. This is a scheme where the co-op has three local causes, the local people of that local community are able to select where they want some of their money to go.
To be able to take part you must be a Co-op member to help your local community and be able to take part. By signing up to an online account you are able to select one of three local causes which you want to support. All you have to do then is remember to scan your card every time you shop at your local Co-op.
For every one pound spent, two pence goes to you and the same goes to the local cause you selected. Around £117 million pounds has been raised by Co-op members and has helped seven million people in the United Kingdom since 2016.
On behalf of all the staff and every volunteer within Campbeltown Lifeboat Station, thank you to the Co-op for offering us to be a local cause and to you, the local community who chose us to be your local cause.
We are a charity who save lives at sea. It would not be possible without donations from our supporters. In 2021, there were 8,868 launches from lifeboat stations around the UK and Ireland and around 35 people aided each day, on average.
This year Campbeltown lifeboats have been launched twenty-six times.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
