Dating back generations, the Rockcliffe Arms Leek Club continues to go from strength to strength attracting new members to carry on this traditional competition. And as in previous years, by conducting raffles, football cards and the Leek Club subscription, the Rockcliffe Arms have raised money to help Cullercoats RNLI continue to save lives at sea.

Raising an incredible £920, crew members were invited to meet the club's members and say thanks in person.

Alex Bateman, RNLI volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer said: 'It’s so nice to see this traditional club continuing, and we feel incredibly privileged that they chose us to support with their incredible donation. We have been invited back to eat the Leek soup next year, so can’t wait to see the super sized veg grown in 2023!’
