RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat responds to Mayday call during planned exercise

Susan Scott arrived on scene and the situation was assessed. It was then agreed with the Coastguard and owner of the vessel that the safest course of action was to escort them north towards Lowestoft. The Lowestoft lifeboat took over the escort one mile east of Southwold harbour.

After five hours at sea, the inshore lifeboat (ILB) returned to station and was refuelled and ready again for service.
