Workington RNLI was called out to help a fishing boat with engine problems.

The volunteer crew was called at 12.27pm, today, August 16, by HM Coastguard after the 27ft boat, with two people on board, reported mechanical issues with their vessel.

Workington RNLI launched the all-weather lifeboat the Dorothy May White. After an assessment by the Coxswain, it was decided the safest course of action was to tow the boat back to Workington.

The volunteer crew returned to the boathouse at 1.15pm.
