Blackpool RNLI volunteers catch a cheque from fishing competition
Local Boat Angling Club present a cheque for £250 to Blackpool RNLI which was raised by the club members
Neil from the Boat Angling club said:
'We finally managed to get afloat to fish the open cod match. There were eight boats that entered the match in freezing conditions and thanks to those entries we raised £250 for the RNLI so well done to all involved.
'On average, RNLI lifeboats launch over 100 times during the Christmas period* every year. Our volunteer crews are always ready on standby should the call for help arise. These rescues, and others all year round, are only made possible thanks to kind and generous donations, like this one from the Blackpool Boat Angling Club.'
