Alderney RNLI lifeboat crew assist with medevac transfer of pregnant woman

Lifeboats News Release

Alderney's RNLI all weather lifeboat, Roy Barker I was launched this morning (Saturday 11 February) at 9.30am to assist the Alderney Mignot Memorial Hospital with an urgent medevac transfer to Guernsey.

Clinical Lead MMH Tanya Wilkinson, Volunteer Crew Members, Richard Phelan, Declan Gaudion - Coxswain, Adam Barns, Rhys Jenkins and Mark Gaudion - Deputy Coxswain.

The heavily pregnant patient was unable to fly due to thick fog in Guernsey, she was accompanied by an MMH nurse and five volunteer lifeboat crew who made her trip as comfortable as possible.

The Roy Barker I arrived at St Peter Port Harbour in Guernsey at 10.45am and arrived back in Alderney by midday.
