The Wick RNLI Lifeboat was launched on Saturday 18 February to a report of a person cut off by the tide.

Wick RNLI Lifeboat was paged this evening (18 February 2023) at 5:57pm to a report of a person cut off by a rising tide at Sandigoe, near Noss Head.

The lifeboat was launched and quickly made its way to the scene. Upon arriving, the lifeboat launched its XP boat which enabled the crew to reach the casualty in the shallower water.

The crew managed to recover the casualty from the rocks and transfer them back to the all-weather lifeboat.
Wick and Duncansby Coastguard rescue teams were also in attendance as part of the overall rescue.

The weather on scene was not very good with the wind blowing from the west at approx 18 knots on the back of storm Otto.

The casualty was not injured and was returned safe and well to the harbour.
