Portree RNLI lifeboat assists a stricken tour boat
Portree RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew goes to the aid of a 31ft tour boat that suffered propulsion issues.
A local 31ft tour boat from Staffin, Isle of Skye, with four persons on board, suffered propulsion problems and requested assistance.
Portree lifeboat was launched about 3.34 pm and made way northwards towards the casualty vessel. The weather on route was slight with northerly winds.
The coxswain, along with the tour operator, carried out an assessment of the situation. The casualty vessel was towed back into Staffin harbour.
When the lifeboat returned to Portree at 6.15pm, it was refuelled and was made ready for service.
