Portpatrick RNLI announce schedule for Lifeboat Week 2023

47 years ago the first Portpatrick Lifeboat Week was held. Since then it has become an institution in the village of Portpatrick for visitors and locals alike.

Portpatrick Lifeboat Week 2023 event schedule

This year's event will start on Monday 31 July and run through to Sunday 6 August. The full schedule of events is available to view below.

Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer Jeanette Hardy said, 'The team at Portpatrick RNLI Lifeboat are extremely excited to announce the final event schedule for Lifeboat Week 2023 and we look forward to another fun filled week raising funds for the RNLI. As always our amazing volunteers - whether they be crew, fundraisers or shop staff are giving up their personal time, many of them taking annual leave, in order to make lifeboat week a continued success. We look forward to a great turn out from the public and welcoming friends old and new to Portpatrick'.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service.
