Running from the 23rd to the 29th July Weymouth Lifeboat Week commences with the traditional Blessing of the Lifeboats and crew at 7:30pm on the harbourside in front of the Lifeboat station.
"Our generous local businesses and supporters have once again pulled out all the stops to help the lifeboat fundraising team and volunteer crews put on a full programme, we are really looking forward to this year's events." Teresa Drage, Volunteer Fundraising Chair
There are events for all ages throughout the week in and around Weymouth from crabbing competitions to live music, a pub quiz and so much more.
Once again a favourite event of the week will be the crew displays, when our volunteer crews launch the Lifeboats in Weymouth bay to provide live demonstrations of some of the life-saving techniques they practice and employ, be sure find a good vantage point!
Andy Sargent, Coxswain said "Lifeboat Week provides numerous opportunities to have fun and show your support for our volunteer crews. But it's also our opportunity to invite you to visit the lifeboat station, meet crew volunteers and take a tour of the lifeboats - for you come and imagine what it's like to be aboard and head out to sea to rescue someone in difficulty."
