Workington RNLI called out after reports of person in sea
Workington RNLI was called out today after reports of a person in difficulty in the sea.
The volunteer crews of the all-weather lifeboat the Dorothy May White and the inshore rescue boat, the John F Mortimer, were alerted at around 1.30pm.
Reports had come in of a person in the sea off the coast at Parton.
St Bees RNLI was also called out and a passer-by also swam out to help.
Both lifeboats returned to the station at around 2.20pm.
