The all-weather lifeboat launched at 2.02pm with six volunteer crew and arrived on scene at 2.38pm. On reaching the casualty vessel, the coxswain assessed the situation and decided the best course of action was to tow the vessel to a safe berth. A tow line was established and the vessel was towed to a berth in Pwllheli Marina.

The yacht is owned by Andrew and Rebecca Jenkins. Rebecca said: ‘I was so impressed with how well the rescue went. I was worried about the tow but it was so smooth and really professional.’ Andrew added: ‘We owe many thanks to the team.’

The weather was clear with good visibility, a gentle north-easterly breeze and calm seas.
