Despite the hot weather, RNLI volunteer crew put on their kit ready to spend the day at the lifeboat station cleaning cars and they weren’t disappointed by the amazing response which kept the crew busy.

The Pwllheli RNLI volunteer fundraising team provided hot beverages for thirsty drivers while they waited for their cars to be cleaned.

A total of £517 was raised for the RNLI, the charity which saves lives at sea, with plans to beat that record next year.

Pwllheli RNLI Coxswain, Tomos Moore, organised the car wash. He said: ‘It was our first ever car wash and what a day we had! The crew washed tirelessly from 10am to 2pm with a great total of over £500 raised! Thank you to everyone who supported us on the day. It’s definitely a keeper for our fundraising calendar so see you next year.’
