RNLI Burnham-on-Crouch assist six people in broken down ski boat
RNLI Burnham-on-Crouch received a second tasking of the sweltering weekend when they were contacted by HM Coastguard at 2.50pm on Sunday 25 June to assist a six metre ski boat that had reportedly broken down in the vicinity of North Fambridge on the River Crouch.
Tony and Robert Britt, the Atlantic class lifeboat, was launched and proceeded to the scene.
Upon arrival, RNLI Burnham-on-Crouch volunteers found that there were six adults in good condition onboard the casualty vessel that had broken down and were unable to make their own way back to Essex Marina.
Following assessment, the RNLI Burnham-on-Crouch Helm decided that the best and safest course of action was to take the casualty vessel under tow back to the ski boat's berth in Essex Marina where they arrived safely at 4.30pm.
The RNLI volunteers returned to station where the lifeboat was prepared ready the for next service.
