Jonathon joined the crew at Portpatrick RNLI back in 2016 when he retired and moved to the village with his wife, Heather, to open a bed and breakfast. With 26 years experience as a paramedic, Jonathon was the perfect candidate for the volunteer role of onboard medic. Since joining the crew, Jonathon has also completed training to become crew trainer/assessor and recently qualified as navigator.

A keen painter all his life, since moving to Portpatrick, Jonathon has enjoyed painting local sights and landscapes.

Ian Beck, Chairman of Portpatrick Lifeboat, said ‘This is an extremely kind donation by Jonathon and the raffle to win this stunning painting will be very popular with visitors to Portpatrick who want to take a special memory home with them. We cannot thank Jonathon enough for his commitment as a crew member here at Portpatrick but also for his continued support of our fundraising to enable the RNLI to continue saving lives at sea.'

Raffle tickets are now on sale at the Portpatrick RNLI Lifeboat Gift shop and are available through July and throughout the annual Portpatrick Lifeboat Fundraising Week which will be held from Monday 31 July to Sunday 6 August. The draw to win the painting will be held on Saturday 5 August at 8.30pm.
