The first incident was on Saturday 6 May when the volunteer crew was paged at 12.07pm to reports of a boat with engine problems as it was entering the River Teifi estuary.

A second boat, which had gone to help, also ran into trouble on the sandbar at the mouth of the river.

Cardigan RNLI launched both their inshore Atlantic-class and D-class lifeboats, recovering the second casualty vessel while the initial vessel did not require assistance.

On Monday 8 May, both lifeboats again launched at 5.07pm to reports of a woman falling from cliffs at Mwnt.

Local HM Coastguard teams, along with a helicopter, also attended, but the casualty escaped injury and did not need help.

Earlier that day, volunteer crew had taken part in the Mayday Mile walk through the streets of Cardigan, walking in full kit with the station’s D-class lifeboat. The crew raised a total of £818.96.
