Thames Lifejacket Clinic

One of a series of events, this clinic is being run for people who take to the water in boats of all shapes and sizes. RNLI crew will help check your lifejackets and give advice on how to check for wear and tear, as well as simple maintenance tasks like replacing gas bottles and firing heads.

In previous clinics, 46 lifejackets were checked, almost half of which either failed inspection or needed maintenance. Nearly a third were in such poor condition that they were taken out of use because they were dangerous.
