Young Farmers' Clubs support RNLI 200th anniversary
The Radnor Federation of Young Farmers focus for their Annual Field Day display competition celebrating the upcoming 200-year anniversary of the RNLI in 2024.
Aberystwyth Lifeboat Branch Chairman, Mark Morgan, and his wife Cheryl were invited to judge the Radnor Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs (YFCs) tableau display at their Annual Field Day held at Glan Elan, Cwmdauddwr, Rhayader.
All the displays were of a very high standard and the local YFCs must be highly commended for their efforts. The winners were Knighton YFC whose winning display will be entered into the Wales YFC finals held at next year's Royal Welsh Show.
Commenting on the competition, Mark thanked the young farmers for their support: 'Judging the eleven entries was enjoyably challenging and all of the displays were of a very high standard. The local Young Farmers' Clubs must be highly commended for their efforts in highlighting the lifesaving work of the RNLI volunteer crews.'
'200 years is an amazing milestone for the RNLI, but everything we have achieved in that time has only been possible thanks to the support of our communities. To mark the 200th anniversary a series of events will be held throughout Wales next year.'
