Blackpool RNLI donation in memory of Mark Allen
The family of Mark Allen visited Blackpool RNLI to present a donation in his memory after he sadly passed away at the age of 18.
The latest fund raising event was undertaken in July 2023, and on Wednesday 4 October 2023, the family made the trip from Manchester to the Blackpool RNLI boathouse where they presented the volunteer crews with over £1,000. They were shown around the boathouse and the lifeboats by the volunteer crew, which coincided with the weekly training night.
Pat Abram, Blackpool RNLI volunteer Deputy Launch Authority and Shop Manager said:
'The gesture in Marks memory is very touching, and we are very grateful for the family making Blackpool RNLI the recipient, but also making the effort to visit the Boathouse to make the presentation'
The RNLI charity is funded through donations, and these donations enable the volunteers to continue to respond 24 hours of the day, 365 days of the year saving lives. This donation will go directly to supporting the Blackpool RNLI volunteers.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service.
