Free Lifejacket Clinics at Chiswick and Teddington RNLI lifeboat stations
Whatever your activity, wearing a well fitted, well maintained and suitable lifejacket or buoyancy aid could save your life. Research has proven that wearing a lifejacket increases your chances of survival by four times if you are immersed in cold water.
These events are designed for lifejacket users on the Thames, to learn from RNLI crew how to check their own lifejacket for wear and tear, and simple maintenance tasks like replacing gas bottles and firing heads
The first clinic is at Teddington lifeboat station at 1pm on Saturday 23rd of September. Places for this and the following four clinics can be booked online.

Key facts about the RNLI
The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
