Kessock crew member features on RNLI 200 Voices podcast
The diversity of crews and volunteers in the RNLI is truly reflected by Kessock RNLI volunteer Olivia Davison whose personal story is the focus of a recent episode in the RNLI 200 Voices podcast series which became available today.
In Rich Rewards Olivia tells how she discovered the RNLI in Brighton where she became a volunteer, the support and camaraderie she found at the charity and how she joined the crew at Kessock RNLI when she moved to the Highlands.
The RNLI 200 Voices podcast series is produced by Dan Holland, a former Lifeboat Press Officer at Kessock RNLI.
Tomorrow’s episode (26 September) Pulling Through features another Scottish female crew member when in RNLI Peterhead’s Sarah Paterson on being crowned Miss European, and the reactions she gets when people discover she’s a lifeboat crew member.
Other Scottish episodes already available include:
· Rescuing Minnie Mouse: Ronnie Copeland. Here the veteran Largs lifeboat man, who was instrumental in saving 296 lives, recalls stories from his time with the charity.
· Courage in Wartime: a WW1 Rescue comes from Fraserburgh. In 1915, seas carried an extra danger, after a steamer is sunk by a submarine, RNLI lifeboat Lady Rothes is launched. Fraserburgh Sea Cadets pick up the story.
