Nathan, a volunteer at the station since 2007, loved the lifeboat so much he chose to make his career with the RNLI and was recently promoted to the new South-East Regional Lifesaving Lead.

Following this appointment, Nathan made the difficult decision to finally hang up his dry suit but will still be supporting Mudeford Lifeboat Station in his new role.

Nathan said, ‘It’s been an absolute pleasure and an honour being part of the team at Mudeford RNLI. It has literally changed my life. I’m sad to be leaving such a great crew and I want to thank my friends and colleagues for all their support during my time at the station.’

Lifeboat Operations Manager, Tim Hewett, said, “On behalf of the entire crew, I want to thank Nathan for his commitment and dedication throughout his 17 years at Mudeford Lifeboat Station, saving lives at sea. He will be sorely missed but we are delighted for Nathan and wish him every success in his new role and his career in the RNLI.’
