The inshore lifeboat launched with a volunteer crew of three outside the boathouse on the north slipway at 6:42pm and proceeded down the harbour channel to the west side beach.

The crew quickly located the people cut off by tide at 6:46pm and were on scene at the foreshore sand dune by 6:48pm. The crew ascertained that the two people and a child were alright and required no medical attention.

Once the stranded party were on board the lifeboat proceeded back toward the boathouse and safely landed all three people on the North slipway at 7:02pm.

Whilst on passage back to the boathouse the crew spotted two other people on the offshore dunes and the lifeboat returned to locate them. Upon arrival the pair were found to be alright and they did not require any further assistance and the crew left the scene.

The lifeboat was then washed down and prepared again for service and was rehoused at 7:45pm.
