Tobermory RNLI launches to assist diver in the Sound of Mull
Tobermory’s volunteer crew launched shortly after 2.30pm on Tuesday 10 April at the request of the UK Coastguard to a recreational diver who had become unwell during a dive.
The diver was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, the nearest available hyperbaric chamber for much of the West Coast of Scotland, for further assessment and treatment. Elizabeth Fairlie Ramsey returned to her berth where she was refuelled and made ready for service by 4.30pm.
Coxswain David McHaffie said: ‘We would like to thank the crew of Rescue 151 for a smooth and efficient casualty transfer. We wish the diver a speedy recovery and understand he is now doing well.’
