Salcombe Harbour Rescue.
Salcombe All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) and Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) launched to reports of a small RIB with adults and children onboard and in difficulty on the Salcombe Bar.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was found the casualty vessel a 3m tender with engine problems had capsized with three adults, four young children and a dog onboard. All casualties were transferred to the ALB via the ILB and were medically assessed.
The ALB returned to Station where the casualties were warmed up and further assessed, before being reunited with other family members.
Salcombe Harbour Authority thank the local informants, including a local fisherman walking his dog, for quickly alerting them and coastguards to the situation, which could have otherwise been much worse.
The casualty vessel was taken under tow by the ILB and moored alongside Normandy Pontoon.
