The money was raised at the Craft Bakers dinner dance held at the Thurlestone Hotel recently. The Craft Bakers Association have a long history of supporting the RNLI in the southwest with Micheal Astill, Regional President being a fundraising volunteer for many years based at Modbury in the South Hams.
Philip Ward, Salcombe Lifeboats Fundraising Chair thanked the bakers for their continued support, without which the RNLI could not continue their work to Save Lives at Sea. The party were given a Station tour to show them how the money raised helps keep the crew of the lifeboats equipped with the safest equipment available, funded by public donations.
