RNLI and Zoggs dive into partnership together

Lifeboats News Release

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and one of the UK’s most beloved swim brands, Zoggs, are joining forces with a shared belief that everyone should be able to enjoy the water safely.

Zoggs champion the joy of swimming. By creating innovative, exciting and high-quality swimwear and swim equipment, Zoggs want to help people all over the world safely enjoy the freedom, fun and exhilaration of the water.

This ethos naturally aligns with the RNLI and its values. As a charity they have been saving lives at sea for 200 years, through their rescue service and sharing water safety messages with the public about how to enjoy being on and around the water.

The partnership will see Zoggs raise funds for the charity via the sale of co-branded swim products, including goggles, swim buoys and swim caps. Zoggs will also raise awareness of the RNLI's lifesaving work by sharing vital water safety messaging with their customers.

Tim Doran, National Water Safety Partner from the RNLI, said:

'This partnership with Zoggs is an exciting opportunity for the RNLI to get our safety messages seen and recognised by an even wider audience.

'Using safe swimming equipment is important for anyone entering the water and with the rise in popularity in activities such as open water swimming, our co-branded products like swim buoys and swim caps are perfect for supporting people in these activities, as well as providing invaluable safety messages.

'Support from Zoggs will also enable us to bring vital funds into the charity so we can continue saving lives at sea.'

Zoggs UK General Manager, Mark Hammersley, says:

‘The main driver of our product innovation at Zoggs is to allow as many people as possible to enjoy the freedom, fun and exhilaration of the water. Safety in the water is key to fulfilling that enjoyment, and working in partnership with the RNLI allows Zoggs to support their fantastic water safety and life-saving work around the coast of the UK. This partnership will also help Zoggs develop new safe swimming products and communicate the key RNLI water safety messages to our consumers.’

The RNLI is urging anyone visiting the coast this summer to make sure they keep themselves and their families safe by following their beach safety advice:

  • Visit a lifeguarded beach and swim between the red and yellow flags.
  • Check the weather forecast, tide times and read local hazard signage to understand local risks.
  • For activities like paddleboarding or kayaking we recommend you wear a wetsuit, buoyancy aid or lifejacket and carry a means of calling for help in a waterproof pouch and keep it on you. Tell someone what you are doing, where you are going and when you expect to return.
  • If you are going open water swimming, use a wetsuit to keep you warm, wear a bright coloured swim hat and take a tow float to store personal items including a phone for emergencies.
If you get into trouble in the water, Float to Live:
  • Tilt your head back with ears submerged
  • Relax and try to control your breathing
  • Use your hands to help you stay afloat
  • It's OK if your legs sink, we all float differently

You can purchase the following co-branded Zoggs and RNLI products from the swimwear brand’s website now; Silicone Caps, Little Cadet Goggles, Bondi Junior Goggles, Mini Kickboard, Hi Viz Sim Buoy Xlite and Hi Viz Swim Buoy.
