Ten year old Nathan Jones raises £2500 for Selsey lifeboat
Nathan from Midhurst (West Sussex) is a keen supporter of the RNLI and visited Selsey station which is the nearest to his home.
After finding out the RNLI were celebrating their 200th birthday in 2024 Nathan decided he was going to walk 200 miles in stages starting on his 10th birthday in December 2023 and finished on Sunday 3 March 2024 at the Selsey lifeboat station with many of the lifeboat crew there to welcome him on the final leg of this superb fundraising walk.
Nathan came to the Station on Sunday 28 March to present a cheque for £2500 to the station visits officer Colin Rycraft who Nathan had met on his visits to the station.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
